Whilst some of MLP's election pledges are scary I doubt whether any are priorities given that the war in Ukraine, the cost of living and Covid will continue to dominate peoples lives for the immediate future. Immigration reform (long overdue) will be first on her list. First the northern Africans then the brits...

If there are increases in the cost of living in France then that will give her the excuse to get her policies related to foreigners pushed through since she's promoting them as saving the state a lot of money.
Look how many law changes have happened in the UK while it's all been going on. At least one of them is that we'll finally get our vote back - though for us to actually have it counted they'll need to sort out the postal voting system so we get our forms in time to send them back.

That's utter cobblers. The aim of controlled immigration is to filter out the 'takers' and retain those who contribute...whatever their degree of bronzage.

28.1% vs 23.3% so hopefully that gap will widen drastically in the second round.

Immigration reform (long overdue) will be first on her list. First the northern Africans then the brits... Re Brits here before brexit happened, she can't target them unless she also targets all EU Citizens because our rights derive from and directly reference the Freedom of Movement Directive. Re Brits who arrived after brexit happened, they are in with all third country nationals, regardless of origin, so any changes she makes for any Africans will also affect Brits. Some of the changes she wants to make are similar to what have already been made in the UK before brexit and some similar to what they want to do since brexit so she probably agrees a lot with the current UK government but I believe she dropped the frexit idea when she saw how badly it was going.

Polls suggest many of them would vote for Le Pen – something unthinkable a few years ago. Not because of her anti-immigration policies. But because some are so frustrated by the current president's perceived failures, they may bend right to the other end of the political spectrum in protest.
