Isn't inconvenience the way to get someones attention?

At nifty and Jackie Neither of you have probably tried to run a business in France…… In my case that is correct, but, at one stage seriously considered doing so and thinking it was not worth it. If anyone is having difficulty in France then perhaps they should try England or elsewhere.

Better to get the attention of someone with the power to change things.

Isn't inconvenience the way to get someones attention? How would your theory work if your trying to have sex with your partner. Do you try starving them or block there car in the drive till they give in? 😄

Dare I say it, the current strife in France, Germany and Belgium could be linked to the EU budget black hole thanks to the UK leaving a couple of years ago.

The French government and the relevant powers-that-be in Brussels are favourite.

At nifty and Jackie Neither of you have probably tried to run a business in France. I have two sales going through this week which will bring in about 180.000 at different ends of her country which helps pay the bills. Social charges, accountants fees plus all the other taxes tva and numerous other fees we pay have to be paid. We get no help so why should they. So they can fu-k up other businesses because they claim they want more money. They are just thugs and gangsters. And as for the yellow jacket thugs they caused millions of euros worth of damage because fuel and food prices were too high. Look at the prices now skyrocketed since they stopped. There supporters and the GJ wrecked France for northing. If you cannot make a business work find a job like everyone else. mysty you are what they call a Marchand de bien, you buy low and sell on for as much as you can and good luck to you. Strikes don't affect you and how you profit from sales, so why exaggerate it? The gilets jaune in their original form did help us all with their efforts, especially here in Brittany. You say the prices sky rocketed after they stopped, so did you want them to get back out and strike, or as happened prices rose. Sorry you couldn't blame them for the rise but you could thank them for their efforts in getting fuel prices down but you appear to prefer to groan about the prices rising when they stopped...bizarre!! The gilet jaunes, wrecked France? can you elucidate please as I can't see how you arrived at that decision. If the farmers quit, you will lose a huge amount, look at the video I placed a while back on this thread. Can't make your business work, find a job. Sounds nice and simple, only one problem, what do you suggest for a job that hundreds of thousands can apply for and all get the job?

Omegal, they wrecked Paris on a weekly basis, people got injured shops and businesses got looted. It was well covered in the news. Plenty of farmers are making money many aren't so either diversify or find something else to do. You cannot rely on hand outs to keep a business going indefinitely.

Plenty of farmers are making money many aren't so either diversify or find something else to do. That's a very simplistic attitude, in many parts of the country agriculture is the only work going. Are you suggesting that farmers simply re-train and move to the big cities to get jobs in IT?

Thousands of cafes, shops and restaurants have shut because they were not viable. The huge steel works in Wales just laid of 1000s of workers. Ardvark needs a new roof if I was closer I would help him. Should he block the road to his mairie till they pay for a new roof? I don't have an answer for you but according to the French farmers they are going to step up the blockades that helps no one and affects other businesses. I'm stuck up here in dep 52 as I have to meet the buyer of my house before he signs normally I would have jumped in the car and gone home Sunday then come back up Wednesday night to meet him on Thursday. I could be doing other things like work.

They should not be in business if it was not for what are effectively Government hand-outs.

Isn't the equivalent of that exactly what happened in the UK and France when mechanised looms replaced hand weavers in their garrets? For all the attempts to stop change, change happened and those that did not acclimatise to the new conditions ended up suffering. We cannot live in an aspic version of the past indefinitely.

Who did, have you heard of Denise St Denis, it's a tinderbox waiting to flare up at any moment, nothing to with farmers or Gilet Jaune. Plenty of agitators and looting is almost a past time. They damage areas but France bounces back, now Gaza and Ukraine are what you say wrecked, not Paris. FGS a farmer since more or less a child has to diversify!! are you having a grin. Small farms get help and some people get angry, what for example if they all ploughed in to being Marchand de biens, would be horrible if there no places left for you to buy and sell and you couldn't get any help but lets say you could get assistance, wouldn't you take it, of course you would. The farmers need their assistance to carry on growing food for you and all of us, you appear to forget that. Again see what this farmer says about farming.
